be thankful

hi guys.

it's a simple message today. no complicated titles. nothing out of the ordinary.

why would i want to write a post about being thankful? isn't that what everyone is screaming in your face this time of year?

maybe i want to write a post today on thankfulness because we need a new outlook on being thankful.

"dear God, thank you that i woke up. thanks for my family and friends and school and a good life. thank you that you are good to me. amen." this seems like a very stereotypical prayer, doesn't it?

but guess what?

who cares about how eloquently you say your prayers? as long as you cry your heart out to God and thank him first and foremost, that's all that matters. God doesn't care whether you thank him for the tiniest detail or for the most obvious thing. he just wants you to thank him for all that he has given to you.

but if you think about it, we don't deserve all our blessings.

why do you have a house?

why do you have clothes?

why do you have a family?

why do you have a great school?

why do you have friends?

why do you have something to look at this blog on?

why do you have anything that you have?

we only have all that we have because God cares just that much about us that he would grant us our greatest desires and wishes, our every need and cry. we don't deserve it. we don't deserve anything we have.

but then why do we have all that we have?

because God cares about us.

God gives us all that we have, and all he asks in return is our utmost thankfulness.

with that in mind, let's try to be as thankful as we can this season and even all the time because God has been so good to us that he is only worthy of all our praise.
