To the Least of These
Hey everyone!
So we're a week into September, and it has been a whirlwind of events, hasn't it! Probably the most tragic has been Hurricane Harvey. Some pictures my mom had found and posted on @whispersandfringes are heartbreaking. (Find out how you can donate and help here.)
However, despite the fact that these pictures depict the sad reality of the situations in Houston and Louisiana, there is a bright light that shines through the darkness to these people in need- the anonymous, thoughtful, charitable, generous volunteers. No one knows their names, yet they have stepped out in compassion to help these hurting people.
This paints a perfect picture for us. This is the example we should follow when we see people in need. All around us, we see hurting people, broken people, people in desperate need of help. What are we supposed to do? We can't just sit around and expect other people to do the work. We need to step out in faith and take action.
We need to be the hands and feet of Jesus. So how can you step out in faith today and help the least of these?
